Cinnamon Apple Pancake Syrup

I decided to switch up our usual homemade pancake syrup for something a little different.

The results were delicious.

Cinnamon Apple Pancake Syrup
(Recipe Source: Mr. Breakfast)
((Printable Version))

Ingredients:
1-2 large granny smith, diced (or macintosh)
1/2 cup water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon dark cocoa powder

Directions:
1. Bring all to a boil and simmer for about 15 minutes.

2. Devour.

Quote of the morning from my seven year old daughter, "Why is there chicken in the syrup?"

Me, "Um, those would be apples, dear."

((sigh))

Yes, my daughter is aware that we are vegetarians.  ((I think.))

  1. She thought it was chicken - so funny! You gotta love what kids think up sometimes. I think this has got to be one of the most appetizing syrup recipes I've seen in a long time!

  4. This looks awesome - how well does it store? Should I store it in the fridge, freezer or cupboard?

  5. Liz, I would say this can store well for about a week. This syrup is so good that my family of 5 can polish it off in one sitting! :)

  6. Hi, I am assuming you are still active on your Blog (love this apple syrup!) I don't know if you realize that the pathway to your Blog is stopped with a warning to continue or abort. I knew you had this Blog and ignored the warning, but others may not. I don't know what you can do about it, but knowing is half the battle I always say! lol
