A Note of Thanks... To Our Air Conditioning Unit
Dear Air Conditioning Unit,
After a week of a 95+ degree heatwave I wanted to take a moment to thank you.
You are a power horse. Despite your rust, your 25+ years of age and your total inefficiency according to today's standards- you still manage to keep us cool.
Every year when we move that little switch from 'heat' to 'cool', we hold our breath and say a little prayer while we wait for the "hummm" sound.
We haven't always been good to you. We don't run routine maintenance on you like we should. But we try to only use you in desperate times. When we do run you, we keep you at 83 degrees to save on energy.
We know you could conk out on us at anytime. When you do leave us, we will cry and our wallets will ache.
We know there are newer, shinier versions of you out there now. We know they run more efficiently and would save us money "in the long run." But, we have also learned that nothing made today is made as well as it was 30 years ago.
For this air conditioner unit, we thank you.
